Aiesec is the World’s largest student based volunteer run organization who’s mission is essentially to increase peace in the world through understanding of culture. This organization finds jobs for foreign students in countries all over the world internationally for a limited time frame and helps them get settled into their new jobs. After having participated on a work placement program with AIESEC, our Company rates this organization a 10 out of 10.
This is more than just a company it is a way of life. Using the Ubuntu operating system is safer than Windows or the Mac operating systems and what’s best is that its free (open source software). It takes virtually no time to install and comes with openoffice programs and a web browser. If you’re looking to have a computer in California for dirt cheap buy a cheap PC and put the ubuntu operating system on it and you’ll have saved yourself some big bucks! We rate this company a 10 out of 10!
With that being said, even if you don’t go with the Ubuntu operating system, openoffice.org gives you a office suite of programs not only comparable to Microsoft but better. Its free and doesn’t attract viruses.

This amazing company allows you to use your computer to phone anyone in the world. If the other person also has skype, then the calls from computer to computer using skype is free. If you’re calling a phone, you’ll have to pay a very small fee. This also allows you to video conference, so that you can see your family. The calling quality is incredible as is the picture. We at California Bums give this company 9 starts out of 10.
This company is fantastic for getting you in touch with great people that allow you to stay on their couch, extra bed without charge. This concept goes one step further than facebook, myspace and all the other social networking companies because it allows you to travel and meet new friends. We give this company a 10 out of 10.
This company allows people to meet-up with other locals interested in similar interests. Join a group and go to the planned events. It often leads people to getting into things they wouldn’t normally do, like taking a free dance lesson, learning a language over coffee etc… However, the groups adherence is completely dependent on the members and we didn’t find that enough interest groups were in our local area. We still felt the concept was fantastic. We give this an 7 out of 10 and will wait anxiously to increase this as our experience with the site grows.
